
Matthew Smith joined Dover Miller in 2025 after twelve years with a bankruptcy firm. Matthew specializes in bankruptcy, creditors rights, collections, foreclosures, and both commercial and residential evictions. His practice areas also include residential real estate and estate planning.
Matthew was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. He received his B.A. in Political Science, Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia in 2007 and earned his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2012. After graduation, he practiced with the law firm of Woodall and Woodall in Valdosta for over twelve years, focusing exclusively on consumer bankruptcy law.
Matthew is admitted to practice in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia. Matthew is also a member of the Valdosta Bar Association.
Matthew is married to Katie Wilson Smith, and they have one son, Mills Smith. They are members at First Christian Church. When not working, Matthew enjoys golf, hunting, and spending time with his family.
